I Am Three are an acoustic duo from Manchester; Band members Hughes (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Irving (double bass/harmonica/vocals) opposing interests create a genre defying mix of identifiable styles such as grunge, alt-folk, blues & hip-hop.

I Am Three have handful of solid tunes, including "I Try” rapped over a waltz, “Burning me”, and Monkey Phonics” which feature on their first EP. But its their live performances which are earning the group a reputation. The duo stretch the rhythmic boundary of the bluesy “Worth it" and "Nostalgia" to slow and wistful songs such as "Strange Addiction" and "Pissing in the wind”
Following their recent tour of Europe “The Truckers Piss Tour 08,” which consisted of low-key unplugged performances along side packed out concerts in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland & Italy. they are now super charged and ready to assault the UK music scene.
I Am Three deliver a serviceable groove, Their self titled debut EP is the first of many, culled from two recent studio sessions the eight track CD features both well gigged material and new tunes. All recorded live with no overdubs the CD has been described by reviewers as "edgy and original."
For fans who enjoy I Am Three live this CD captures their sound perfectly as no studio trickery or overdubs have been employed. Those looking for something different should be aware that this is it. From start to finish the songs are packed with intangible lyrics which will challenge listeners.
